Big things, mang!

I'm working on the new site instead of doing homework... So please support my irresponsibility by coming to BIKE NITE on December 26th. You'd think since I'm already doing this that I'd be able to work on my WEB DESIGN homework... Nope. Anyways, I'm going to finish up for the night and go on a bike ride

We're moving!

veloship.blogspot.com will soon be retiring. The rest of the crew (Sandy MF Jones, Ryan Jailmouth K.) and myself will be making the move to VELOSHIP.ORG. Be on the lookout!

=BIKE NITE!=

BIKE NITE has been pushed back to the 26th. It's a good thing though, trust me. It'll give me more time to line up sponsors so we can give you some dope gear to take home. We have a few confirmed sponsors, Shaun Deller, OLEVELO & VooDoo Donuts for example... And a good number of companies interested in making these events super special for you. Stay tuned!!!

Brev.M

Brev.M is the new kid on the block as far as track/fixed components go. Now, they haven't been around nearly long enough for me to know how good their stuff its but they have some pretty good looking stuff coming out. The super sexy drops above for example. It'll be interesting to see where they take it and the quality of their components.

But for now check out Brev.M's website.

=2010 SUPER PISTA=

WE ALL KNOW THAT I'M A HUGE FAN OF BIANCHI PISTAS... THE 2007 WAS MY FIRST TRACK FRAME AND WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY STABLE. FOR A LONG WHILE I'VE BEEN SWEATING THE PISTA CONCEPTS, BUT HAVEN'T MUSTERED ENOUGH EXTRA LOOT TO COP ONE. THEN THEY STOPPED PRODUCING THEM AND I WANTED ONE EVEN MORE... UNTIL NOW.

LO AND BEHOLD... 2010 SEES THE CONCEPTS REPLACEMENT, THE SUPER PISTA. IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE REAR TUBING, BEEFING IT UP AS WELL AS A LITTLE MORE CUTOUT ROOM IN THE REAR TO ACCOMADATE LARGER TIRE SIZES. THE SEAT TUBE IS TEAR-DROPPED RIGHT UP TO THE SEAT CLAMP. GRAPHICS ARE VINTAGE BIANCHI LOGOS AND ITS PRODUCED IN THE VELOSHIP TEAM COLOR... FLAT BLACK!!!

(ABOVE: BIANCHI'S BUILD UP AT INTERBIKE '09)

MADE IN 49-51-53-55-57-59 & 61, THIS ALUMINIUM FRAME COMES SET WITH A CARBON FORK ON AN INTEGRATED HEADSET... AND ALL THIS WILL ONLY RUN YOU $750. NOT BAD CONSIDERING THE USED CONCEPTS I WAS EYEBALLING WERE ALWAYS IN THE $600-$650 RANGE.

More of the same...

These are new from Genetic Bikes. They're pretty much more of the same, except the black on blacks. Which would look super good on my bike. Find out more at Genetic's website.

Brenton Salo x Cyclocross

Our good friend Brenton Salo went to the cyclocross race at PIR recently and got a few great shots like the one above. Check out his blog at brentonsalo.com to see more of his work.

Great things are on their way!

Ok so we're working on a bike night at Mt. Tabor Theater, here in Portland. It's going to be a monthly event, which I'm stoked on. We'll have bike video screenings, music, food and drinks. Plus just a great time, that hopefully develops Portland's bike community further. We've got the venue on lock down and pretty much everything except sponsors. I've been talking with Jeff from All-City, and it looks like we'll have them for a sponsor in the months to come. And I'm working on getting some good companies to get in on this so that we can give people some dope gear in the process. If you have some hookups or something, let me know so we can make this even super fun for everyone.

Also, I'm working on my own personal baby... Top Secret. It will be a series of trick competitions, alley cat races, and just plain fun events. Due to my paranoid mindset, and a twisted sense of humor, the races will rely less on advertising and more on networking. If it works out as well as it does in my head, this is how it will work... A series of 3 events. I'm in the process of building a website for Top Secret, when that website is up, you will join a mailing list. When the race approaches, you'll be contacted with a time and location, you tell your friends about it and bring ONE entry fee for all of the events (provided you're participating) and in order to participate you'll have to bring your spoke card to each event. It should be super fun and hopefully it'll keep the cops off your backs. Cause nobody likes bike tickets. Keep in mind, I'm still in the planning stages but it sounds rad, right? Also lining up sponsors for that as well.

I'm trying to finally get VELOSHIP on the map so that we can do something for the community. Though, I'm a dreamer and my dreams are often a little larger than life.

I'm working on getting some product. Namely, a Milwaukee Bruiser or an All-City Dropout. I'd like to start reviewing things. So if you're listening, All-City and Milwaukee, I ride a 56(ish) in these bikes. (Actually, I did talk to Jeff about getting my hands on a Dropout... We'll see how successful I am)

Keep VELOSHIPPING,

Wes VS Pelto
